Spread the love

Looking for the perfect place to explore with young kids to develop imagination, cooperative play, sensory skills and both fine and gross motor? Wanting the kids to enjoy messy play but not in your own house? or is that just me?

Look no further!

PLEASE Note the MESSY SHED is now conveniently located at 1 Watt Road ,Mornington, Victoria.

We loved our morning at The Messy Shed which is part of the Hungry Peacock Cafe in Tyabb, Victoria.

The Messy Shed is held in a big shed set up with weekly themes.

Opening in September 2015 it’s well on its way to a hot spot for pre-schoolers.

The theme we enjoyed was Bathing Baby! Woody loved bathing the dolls, washing their clothes and even painting them.

The four tables in the centre are themed and there are consistent set ups on the edge with box construction, peg board, painting and rice play.

The box construction area was a big hit! Kids help themselves to glue, scissors, tape, paper and boxes.

The details:

Sessions run for 1 hour at both 930am and 11am. ( Tuesday-Sunday) Cost is $10 per child and parents stay with their child. The space can accommodate 15+ kids and is wheelchair and pram friendly.

Our tips:

  • After a messy session head to the Hungry Peacock for lunch! Its the most child friendly cafe we have ever been too! Where else can you sit and have a baby chino while exploring wooden blocks and dinosaurs? Woody gave it a big thumbs up! Please note the cafe does get busy and can often seem like a free for all. Just be prepared for not much calm!
  • wear old clothes ( smocks are also provided)
  • book your spot before coming down
  • suited to kids aged 2-5 years.
