The Montalto olive harvest celebration is in its 13th year. A weekend celebration for the whole family held on the Mornington Peninsula in Red Hill.
While Cooper and Andrew spent time in the tasting tent enjoying olives, olive oil and lemon tarts the younger kids headed to the art and craft station thanks to Coastal Creatives. All the fairy staff were lovely and helpful with the kids.
We joined back together to share lunch in the garden area. The kids loved the fresh ciabatta with olive oil and dukkah.
After lunch we had a tractor ride through the property and got to see some great sculptures and views.
The kids olive spitting competition was a great fun way to end our day.
Watch our day here:
Held Saturday and Sunday 4/5 July 2015 11am-4pm
Check website for 2016 dates.
Price- entry is free.
Kids craft- for $5 per child they can draw and colour, paint a garden ornament, make a windmill and have their face painted. Tractor rides included.
There are a couple of designated wheelchair accessible car parks with lots of staff to help direct parking on this day. Access to restaurant is great and accessible toilets all on one level.
The winery is on a slope with paths that are accessible to access restaurant and garden area. Paths also go through vineyards and sculptures and we found Coopers off road Hippocampe worked best here. His powerchair would have also suited when the ground was less muddy.
